Eminem and Rihanna have ended Katy Perry’s six-week reign over the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Their hit ‘Love The Way You Lie’ - also top in Australia at present - climbs to No.1 this week after spending three consecutive weeks in second position.

It becomes the fourth and seventh US chart-toppers for Eminem and Rihanna respectively.

Perry slips to two with ‘California Gurls’, while B.o.B. and Hayley Williams hold steady at three with ‘Airplanes’.

Meanwhile, Taio Cruz climbs from six to four with ‘Dynamite’, the follow-up to his transatlantic chart-topper ‘Break Your Heart’.

Notable gains outside the top ten come from Shontelle, who jumps from 16 to 13 with ‘Impossible’, and Maroon 5, who leap from 44 to 28 with ‘Misery’.

Katy Perry says her fiance Russell Brand has had a big impact on the direction of her second album, Teenage Dream.

Half of the tracks were recorded before the singer met the comedian, but she says their relationship has impacted on many of the songs since then.

Speaking to Newsbeat Perry said: “There are some songs on the album inspired by love. There’s a song called Hummingbird Heartbeat. He gives me that Hummingbird Heartbeat.”

Katy Perry has revealed that she is launching her own fragrance which she has named Purr.

The California Gurls singer announced that the perfume will come presented in a cat-shaped bottle with jewelled eyes and will be available this Autumn at Nordstorm stores and online via their website.

Perry’s scent will allegedly contain notes of peach, apple and green bamboo, jasmine blossom and freesia, as well as rose, vanilla, orchid, white amber, sandalwood and musk.

The 25-year old, who unveiled the artwork for her second studio album Teenage Dream yesterday admitted that she was nervous about the project and kept the perfume a secret until it was complete.

Russell Brand’s missus explained: “I kept wanting to tell someone! It wasn’t just like, ‘I love gardenias’. That would have been the easy route. I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before and not one that smelled like a knockoff of another scent.”

“All things edible for me are also intriguing. So if there are little dancing strawberries, I will be happy. Peppermint is cute; cotton candy is adorable. We like to keep it cute and classy.”

She added: “I am a product wh*re. I am a consumer of a multitude of beauty products and I’m always looking for the next great thing.”

In other Katy Perry related news, the I Kissed A Girl hit maker’s latest single Teenage Dream got it’s official debut yesterday despite the track leaking last week.

The teasing twosome have reportedly instructed one of Lady Gaga’s favourite designers to construct the skin-tight suits.

Atsuko Kudo, responsible for Lady G’s infamous latex nun’s habit, as well as the skin-tight rubber gown she wore to meet the Queen, has been ordered to make the pricy costumes, which are to be ready for September.

So it seems rumours of an Autumn ceremony might just be true.

‘Russell and Katy have both got wicked sense of humours and are big fans of Lady Gaga,’ one insider told the Sun.

‘They wanted unique outfits and no one dresses like her anywhere in the civilised world. The wedding will certainly be different.’

The cut was so intense that it even required 17 stitches. But she is a professional and a soldier, so she slipped a flesh-colored bandage over it and continued on with the promotional tour for her upcoming second album Teenage Dream. “17 stitches later,” she tweeted after seeing a doctor. “Don’t make fun of my dance moves tomorrow. That’s what got me here in the 1st place! Thanks for the souvenir Canada.”

While Perry’s injury is just a cut, it’s still an inconvenience that she is working through. It’s difficult to go on tour and not hurt yourself every once in a while, which means that Perry has excellent company on the list of stars who have been knocked down only to get right back up again.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand have apparently sent ‘Save The Date’ invites to a small group of friends ahead of their wedding this autumn.

Guests will be flown to a secret location for a seven-day long celebration which will focus on their love rather than being a “drunk fest”, reports the News Of The World.

The henna-inspired hand-shaped invite, which gives the date as being between October 18 and 25, suggests the ceremony could take place in India, where Brand proposed on New Year’s Eve.

The card reads: “Save the Week, For the Wedding of Katy & Russell. You will need a passport and be contacted soon with more information.”

Perry, 25, intends to wear a dress by Galliano as the couple’s first date was to one of his shows in Paris.

Speaking to fashion magazine Nylon, Katy said that Russell’s famous skinny jeans and big hair remind her of several people, with names surprisingly including Elvis Presley and Jesus.
If that was not enough, the I Kissed A Girl singer added The Doors singer Jim Morrison and the notorious cult leader Charles Manson to the list.
But this does not seem to bother Katy, who also revealed details of their engagement, stating that her ring contains two rubies and is engraved with the phrase “the one I’ve been looking for”.
Comedian Russell popped the question while on holiday in India over new year, after the pair had only been dating for a few months. Before getting down on one knee, the couple had their relationship blessed by a love guru at the foot of Jaipur mountain.
